Grand Central (store)

Grand Central was a chain of discount department stores founded by Maurice Warshaw in Salt Lake City, Utah.[1] Grand Central had stores in Idaho, Utah, New Mexico, Wyoming, Arizona.[1] In 1984, Fred Meyer acquired Grand Central, a year later Fred Meyer closed the one Wyoming Grand Central location, and sold the Arizona and New Mexico stores to Wal-Mart.
Founder Maurice Warshaw died on January 5, 1979.[1]

- Boise, Idaho - Boise Plaza (became Fred Meyer 1984, closed 1990, became Burlington Coat Factory in 1991)
- Pocatello, Idaho - Alameda Plaza (became Fred Meyer 1984, moved 2004)
- Idaho Falls, Idaho - Yellowstone Square (became Fred Meyer 1984, moved 1997)
- Farmington, New Mexico - San Juan Plaza North (became Wal-Mart 1984, moved in early '90s, now Hobby Lobby and Hastings Books & Music)
