IUKB was officially recognised by the Swiss Government as a university institute in 1992 in accordance with Federal Law on Financial Aid to Universities (UFG/LAU).
In 2007, three of its academic programmes were accredited by the OAQ (l’Organe d’Accréditation et d’Assurance Qualité des Hautes Ecoles Suisses) [1]
