GPS Construction (Nottingham) Ltd was founded in Nottingham, in 1984, by Gordon P Smith, a bricklayer by trade. He started the company working alone with a £50 van. To date, the company now has a seventy-five strong team and a multi-million pound turnover, carrying out works across the East Midlands.
The company remains very much a family business, with three generations of the family now running the day-to-day management of the company. The founder's father, Don Smith, is part of the estimating team, and the founder's son, Adam Smith, is the director of the contracts management team.
GPS Construction is featured on the council's Top Contractors by value page and is currently listed at No 13. The company now carries out contracts ranging from £25k to £2million. The company are NHBC registered and approved by Constructionline.
GPS Construction have recently carried out a number of medium sized construction projects in nottinghamshire, Wollaton library 250k + extension, Lawrence House £280k, Sycamore Grove £200k and fire damage contracts £1 million + for Nottingham City Council
