Government Homoeopathic Medical College, Calicut (GHMC Calicut) is the first Graduate Homoeopathic medical college of Asia. Prior to introduction of this college Homoeopathic Education was in Diploma Level in Asia. It is also the only Homoeopathic medical college under University of Calicut.

This college started functioning in 1976. Started at Karaparamba acquiring a Mansion that belonged to Manager of Pearce Leslie Cashew Factory during British rule and was later in possession of Koliyot family. College building was later constructed in that area. The original mansion was used for many years and later it was abolished in 2002.

This college provides graduation and post graduation courses in Homoeopathy. Graduation course is Bachelor of Homoeopathic Medicine and Surgery(BHMS). BHMS is a five and half year course in which one year is for internship. PG courses offered includes MD(Homoeo) in various faculties. There are 13 different departments, clinical, non-clinical and para-clinical.There is museums and demo rooms for each departments with a collection of specimens. The courses are conducted by University of Calicut and standardized by regulations of governmental body, Central Council of Homoeopathy, India.

There is a hundred bedded attached hospital with eight out patient sections. Hospital is divided into male ward and female ward. There is a minor operation theater, physiotherapy section and multigym functioning in the hospital. There is also a separate ten bedded pain and palliative section for terminally ill patients and five bedded critical care unit for seriously ill patients.

Silver Jubilee
Silver Jubilee of the college was celebrated in 2000-2001 academic year. There was a medical exhibition, and cultural activities.
Graduation
The first proper Graduation ceremony was conducted in GHMC Calicut for out going interns of 2006 named [b]Aumentare 06 - The Rising[/b]. It was of the first type in history of GHMC. The young interns received Scrolls with inscribed Modified Hippocratic oath with Hahnemannian Oath in it, and sworn in as Homoeopaths. The program was conducted by Intern Doctors Association of the college and hosted by college Union. There was a prosession to mark the beginning, then distribution of scrolls, Oath Taking and Reply speech. Advocate Syndiate member of calicut university was the chief guest and Dr Haroon Ashraf Secretary to Intern Doctors Association presented the reply speech.
