Gordon Rugby Football Club are a rugby union club based on the North Shore of Sydney, New South Wales. The club, known as the Highlanders, play out of Chatswood Oval and compete in the New South Wales Rugby Union grade competition.

They derive their name from the Gordon Highlanders regiment of the British army. The Gordon Highlanders existed as a regiment from 1881 until 1994. The regiment recruited principally from Aberdeen and the North-East of Scotland. The club wear a tartan-design jumper incorporating the colours of the Gordon Clan, yellow, black, green and blue.

The original Gordon Rugby Football Club was founded in 1927 on Sydney's North Shore, playing in the Metropolitan Junior Competitions and its home games on Roseville Chase Oval. The club was disbanded in 1930 and the following year, many of its players transferred to the newly formed Roseville Junior Rugby Union Football Club, whose home ground was Chatswood Oval. Roseville Junior Rugby Union Football Club wore a navy and white hooped jumper with a red rose as its emblem.

In the 1935 season, the club won the Metropolitan Junior Club Championship, the Kentwell Cup and its second grade, the Bourke Cup.

Following its success the club was admitted to the Grade Competition in 1936 and changed its name to the Gordon District Rugby Union Football Club, fielding four grade and two junior sides, which participated in the Metropolitan Junior Competition. Gordon initially wore a white jumper with a navy V.

When Gordon adopted the tartan jumper it incorporated the Stag's head of the Gordon Highlanders as its emblem.

Gordon's club song is based on the Gordon Highlanders' regiment song "A Gordon For Me", with the rugby club substituting Georgie McHugh of the Gordon RU for Geordie MacKay of the HLI.

Gordon Stags is the senior "Vets" team of the Gordon RFC.

Despite having a strong season, the Gordon 1st colts side was beaten by the West Harbour Pirate 25-20 in the first round of the final series, ending their season.
