Gopher Prairie, Minnesota is the fictional small-town setting of the Sinclair Lewis novel Main Street. It is modeled on the town of Sauk Centre, Minnesota where Lewis grew up.
Lewis says in Main Street "This is America - a town of a few thousand, in a region of wheat and corn and dairies and little groves."
