Gongsun Lü'e

This is a Chinese name; the family name is Gongsun (公孫).

Gongsun Lu'e (公孫綠萼) is a supporting character from Jin Yong's famous work The Return of the Condor Heroes. She is the daughter of the evil Passionless Valley master, Gongsun Zhi (公孫止) and the cruel Qiu Qianchi (裘千尺) who was known as the Iron Palm Lotus Blossom「鐵掌蓮花」. She is a kind-hearted person, normally wearing a green dress.

After Yang Guo appear in Passionless Valley, she appears shortly in the novel. Due to Yang Guo's sweet mouth, she slowly fell in love with him. After Yang Guo stirred up problems in the Valley, she is even more protective of him and keep helping Yang Guo. Gongsun Lu'e even braved her father's wrath to steal the antidote, the passion pill, for Yang Guo after he has been poisoned by the Love Flower found in the Valley. In the end, Gongsun Lu'e and Yang Guo were pushed into a deep valley by her father, Gongsun Zhi.

In the deep valley, she was only wearing a very thin clothing which prompted Yang Guo to lend her his clothes to cover up for her modesty. Inside the valley, she found her mother, Qiu Qianchi, crippled without the use of all limbs and survived on eating red dates. She also learned from her mother how Gongsun Zhi betrayed her, injured her and pushed her into the valley for death. She was then pulled out of the valley by Yang Guo, who had fashioned a rope out of tree bark and climbed out using it.

After Gongsun Zhi was forced out of the Valley by Qiu Qianchi, Qiu Qianchi tried to force Yang Guo to marry Gongsun Lu'e, but she refused, as she know of Yang Guo's love for Xiaolongnü.

When Gongsun Zhi returned to Passionless Valley to steal the passion pill, Gongsun Lu'e died by her father's sword when she tried to help Yang Guo to defeat Gongsun Zhi.
