Goldsboro High School is an inner-city public high school located in Goldsboro, North Carolina. Goldsboro High School is classified as a 2-A school with an enrollment of 702 students (2006-2007)[1]

Montrell Coley In 1996, Coley broke North Carolina's high school single-season rushing record for football in his senior year, rushing for 3,456 yards. He was the only football player in the school's history to have his jersey number (44) retired until David Thornton's number 11 was retired in 2008.

David Thornton (football) Thornton is a linebacker in the NFL for the Tennessee Titans.

Clyde King Former Major League pitcher and manager and currently a special advisor to George Steinbrenner, owner of the NY Yankees.

Jerry Narron Former Major League player (catcher) and former manager of the Cincinnati Reds and Texas Rangers.

David Odom. Former men's basketball coach for Wake Forest, East Carolina, and University of South Carolina. Won over 400 games. Retired end of 2007-08 season.

Andy Griffith also taught English at Goldsboro High School for a few years. He is credited by many for creating the high school's marching band, which, to date, has been one of the most prolific high school bands in history.
