Goalandaghat is located at 23.7333° N 89.7611° E . It has 15694 units of house hold and total area 149.03 km².

As of 1991 Bangladesh census^[1], Goalandaghat has a population of 91675. Males constitute are 52.1% of the population, and females 47.9%. This Upazila's eighteen up population is 44854. Goalandaghat has an average literacy rate of 20.5% (7+ years), and the national average of 32.4% literate. ^[2]
