Talk:Gnostic Association of Anthropological, Cultural and Scientific Studies
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
The "International Gnostic Movement" has, according to their webpage at Gnosisy.org been "embodied" by this "Institute." The relevance of the article is questionable. I have attempted to expand the stub with a little bit of context. In my opinion (though I am not nominating it), this article is useless.
The statement: The organization claims to have centers in South and North America, Europe, Japan, Australia and Africa, though all of the current activites are centered around upstate New York and western Vermont. was deemed misleading. At the time I expanded the stub, all events I could find online which were sponsored or advertised by the Intl Gnostic Movement were, in fact, located in upstate NY or western VT. For a previous debate over the deletion of the article see Wikipedia:Votes for deletion/International Gnostic Movement.
[edit] Which organization?
Which organization is this article about? The title says Gnostic Association of Anthropological, Cultural and Scientific Studies (AGEAC), but the text is about The Gnostic Institute of Anthropology, and they are not the same. The director of AGEAC, for example, is Oscar Uzcategui and not Osiris Gomez Garro. Anton H 20:58, 19 August 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Reverts
The info that [user:82.79.132.170|82.79.132.170] recently added is mistaken in several ways. 1. It already says above that their teachings are based on the writings of Samael Aun Weor. 2.If anyone wants more information about him, such as whether or not he is the reincarnation of a fallen angel (which I don't think is relevant to mention here) it is better if they click on the Wikilink to the article about him. 3. I read your reference and while he mentions powers over nature I can't find anywhere where he claims to offer riches, and he definitely doesn't request complete allegiance to him, this is a complete misunderstanding. He said: "Don't follow me, I'm just a signpost. Reach your own self-realization." Besides, I think that it's misleading to simply say that that he offers riches and powers over nature; his teachings are so much more than that, it gives a false picture of them. 4. My experience disagrees with that every AGEAC school has a Guru who one must serve. Wikipedia does not allow statements like this that do not have a reliable reference. Please read WP:NOR. Thank you.
