The General Motors L platform (commonly called the L-body) is a front-wheel drive compact car automobile platform that was produced from 1987 through 1996. The L-body was essentially identical to the N-body platform used by other GM divisions with the same 103.4 in wheelbase and rear beam suspension. Both platforms were used to replace the X-body platform on which the Citation was built.

The L-body platform lasted just one generation, with the nameplates retired and replaced by the N-body Chevrolet Malibu and Oldsmobile Cutlass sedans.
