[edit] Image Tagging Image:Big Barbra-Desktop Folder-Bligh.jpg

Warning sign
This media may be deleted.

Thanks for uploading Image:Big Barbra-Desktop Folder-Bligh.jpg. I notice the 'image' page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you have not created this media yourself then there needs to be an argument why we have the right to use the media on Wikipedia (see copyright tagging below). If you have not created the media yourself then it needs to be specified where it was found, i.e., in most cases link to the website where it was taken from, and the terms of use for content from that page.

If the media also doesn't have a copyright tag then one should be added. If you created/took the picture, audio, or video then the {{GFDL-self}} tag can be used to release it under the GFDL. If you believe the media qualifies as fair use, consider reading fair use, and then use a tag such as {{Non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair_use. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other media, consider checking that you have specified their source and copyright tagged them, too. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any unsourced and untagged images will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Renata 06:27, 13 May 2006 (UTC)

The image is an original still in my collection released by Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer to promote the film (1936). These images were meant to be published in magazines for publicity purposes. the text itself by MGM sadly doesn't credit the photographer, that's why there's no photographer credit. The only thing I can do is credit the current copyright owners of the movie, Warner Bros and Turner Entertainment, though of course, the rightful owner of the rights would be the excellent but uncredited still photographer. MGM's rights original rights having expired, I believe. User:Gloria Porta, 13 May 2006

[edit] Thanks for you message

Hi Gloria Porta. I just wanted to say thanks for your message and the info in it. From the first time that I saw the The Private Life of Henry VIII I was interested in both of their careers and read what I could. My interest in them was renewed when I read Christopher Bram's 'Father oI Frankenstein'. It contains several references to them and their move to Hollywood that weren't covered in the film Gods and Monsters and even though it was a fictionalized telling of events I thought he did a nice job. I also learned, as I got older, that I had to take any autobiography or biography with a grain of salt. As you know they are all telling the truth as they see it but friendship and loyalties can get in the way and sometimes what they aren't saying is as important as what they are. All that aside the main reason I made my entry was that the way it read before just seemed a little one-sided. I thought it was handled a little more evenly on Laughton's page, so I just wanted to make it a little more neutral (nice misspelling of that word in the edit summary by me don't you think?). Thanks again for your words and keep enjoying wikiP. MarnetteD | Talk 14:52, 31 August 2006 (UTC)

I just wanted to say thanks for the Laughton links. They were very interesting and I especially liked your blog entry entitled 'Manifesto'. It was well written and worth reading so here is a plate of cookies to say thank you very much. !!!! MarnetteD | Talk 17:47, 5 September 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Orphaned fair use image (Image:Bligh.jpg)

Thanks for uploading Image:Bligh.jpg. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable under fair use (see our fair use policy).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any fair use images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. BetacommandBot 19:51, 11 May 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Fair use rationale for Image:Laughton about 29 years of age.jpg

Thanks for uploading or contributing to Image:Laughton about 29 years of age.jpg. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is not a suitable explanation or rationale as to why each specific use in Wikipedia constitutes fair use. Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free media lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Mailaccount (talk) 02:04, 12 December 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Unspecified source for Image:Laughton about 29 years of age.jpg

Thanks for uploading Image:Laughton about 29 years of age.jpg. I noticed that the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, then you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, then a link to the website from which it was taken, together with a restatement of that website's terms of use of its content, is usually sufficient information. However, if the copyright holder is different from the website's publisher, then their copyright should also be acknowledged.

As well as adding the source, please add a proper copyright licensing tag if the file doesn't have one already. If you created/took the picture, audio, or video then the {{GFDL-self}} tag can be used to release it under the GFDL. If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Fair use, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair use. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their source and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. Unsourced and untagged images may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If the image is copyrighted under a non-free license (per Wikipedia:Fair use) then the image will be deleted 48 hours after 02:04, 12 December 2007 (UTC). If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Mailaccount (talk) 02:04, 12 December 2007 (UTC)
