Article policies

I created this page to provide agreed upon (read: WP-edited) definitions of some common legal terms in technology. It is not necessarily as formal as List of legal terms, nor is it intended to turn into List of software licenses. Ideally it should complement Legal aspects of computing. Please attempt to fill in neutral definitions of the different terms, as you see fit, which should contain wiki-links to more information on the subject. If the term itself is explicitly not neutral, such as "treacherous computing" (pejorative alternative for trusted computing) or "viral" (pejorative adjective for the GPL), please just do your best to be neutral anyway. Perhaps a better name for the page is "Glossary of terms in intellectual property law", so feel free to do what you like with it. --Chris Pickett 22:39, 7 December 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Discussion

[edit] "Legal"

Some of the definitions included, while useful explanations of technology-related terminology, are not "legal" terms in any sense -- they don't have specific meanings defined by law, nor do they define a particular legal situation. Candidates for deletion: abandonware, binary, incompatible, phishing, source code, TwC, warez. Bassomatic (talk) 18:57, 7 May 2008 (UTC)
