The Globe Céleste was like the Eiffel Tower an ikon of the Expo 1900 in Paris. It depicts a sky globe.
It was "[...] catered for armchair space-travellers: spectators leaned back in easy chairs while panoramas depicting the solar system were rolled past." [1]
