Global Media Journal is a peer-reviewed journal in the communication field. The journal is an online publication launched in fall of 2002. The journal publishes scholarly works assessing media structures and practices on an international global scale. The journal can be accessed online at no charge for users.
The founding and managing editor is Yahya R. Kamalipour, Professor and Head of the Department of Communication and Creative Arts at Purdue University Calumet.
As of fall 2007 there were 11 localized global editions of the Global Media Journal with independent content based upon the direction and leadership of edition managing editor.
