Gloaming (1915-1932) was an Australian-bred Hall of Fame Thoroughbred racehorse who raced in New Zealand and Australia. Sired by The Welkin out of the mare Light, his grandsire was the English Triple Crown champion, Flying Fox.
He jointly holds the Australasian record (with Desert Gold) of 19 successive wins. Gloaming had 67 race starts, won 57 and was second 9 times. He fell in his only other race start. He was successful at distances from 4 furlongs to a mile and a half. Gloaming had a long racing life from aged 3 to aged 9 which included victories over other champion racehorses such as Desert Gold, Beauford, Whittier and The Hawk.
