[edit] Armand's Fantasy Football

Armand's Fantasy Football is a free fantasy football website I have created.

There have been two previous competitions, one currently in progress, and one scheduled for next summer (2008). The format has changed depending on the competition.

The main competition is the English Premier League, but major international tournaments also have a league.

[edit] Premiership: 2005/06

Five entrants started in the first AFF Season.

The format was in a 4-3-3 formation with a £60,000,000 budget with a maximum of three players from one team. Premiership, FA Cup, League Cup and Community Shield all counted to score points.

There were 20 transfers allowed - with a maximum of 4 per month.

The final table looked as follows:

Pos Manager Team Name Points
1 Glenn Bullock Armand One + Ten More 2557
2 Dane Rossiter FC Thun 2522
3 Scott Bickerton Crewe Reds 2269
4 David Stone Manchester Phoenix 1949
5 Steve Begg Steve's Stars 1059

[edit] World Cup 2006

The 2006 World Cup took place after the 2005/06 season. There were eight participants.

The format stayed as a 4-3-3, with only one person from each team during the stages, then five transfers allowed after the group stages with two players from each team allowed. There was no money-limit.

The final table looked like this:

Pos Manager Team Name Points
1 Liam Goran-Eriksson Liam's World Allstars 309
2 Glenn Bullock Armand One + Ten More 301
3 Oli Rose THFC Allstars 290
4 Mike Butt Alty Allstarz 268
5 Scott Bickerton Crewe Reds 262
= Ruairi Criscuolo F.C Hammer.............Stop Hammertime 262
7 Dane Rossiter Dane's Worldbeaters 260
8 Steve Begg Steve's Stars 174

[edit] Premiership 2007/08

After a one-year hiatus, AFF returned with a complete re-vamp to the rules.

Now, there is a 4-4-2 formation, and like the World Cup, there was no budget, but only one player per team allowed. Only Premiership matches scored points.

There are currently six participants. The table (as at 20 October) is as follows:

Pos Manager Team Name Points
1 Jack Rossiter Jacks Army 472
2 Dane Rossiter Dane's Allstars 380
3 Amie Fletcher Lulu Utd 363
4 Jenny Young Cerritos 11'ers 301
5 Glenn Bullock Armand One + Ten More 242
5 Mike Butt Alty Allstars 209

The current table can be found on the official website

There are five transfers allowed, but only in January 2008.

New rules for point-scoring were allocated, including a goal scored from inside the player's own half.

The current point-allocation[1] are;

Plays full match 3 points
Plays partial match 1 point
Striker scores 5 points
Midfielder scores 8 points
Goalkeeper or defender scores 10 points
Player in any position scoring from behind half-way line Normal points x5
Assist 3 points
Yellow card -3 points
Two yellow cards -7 points
Straight red card -10 points
Team wins 3 points
Clean sheet (Goalkeepers and defenders playing full match) 5 points
Clean sheet (Goalkeepers and defenders only playing partial match) 2 points
Goal conceeded -1 point
Penalty save 5 points

[edit] Euro 2008

AFF will return in the summer for Euro 2008.

[edit] Likely rules

The rules for AFF: Euro 2008 will most probably be as follows:

  • 4-4-2 formation
  • No budget
  • One player per team for the group stages,
    • But two players per team for the Second Round onwards.
    • Transfers of four players between the end of the Group Stage and the beginning of the Second Round.
  • Point-allocation will probably stay the same as in the 2007/08 Premiership season - maybe with a few minor changes.

Any comments or suggestions should be either emailed to me at info@armandsfantasyfootball.co.uk, or posted in the discussion section of this page.
