Glen Raven is a census-designated place (CDP) in Alamance County, North Carolina, United States. It is part of the Burlington, North Carolina Metropolitan Statistical Area. The population was 2,750 at the 2000 census.

Glen Raven is located at (36.117387, -79.470232)[3].
According to the United States Census Bureau, the CDP has a total area of 4.1 square miles (10.6 km²), of which, 4.1 square miles (10.5 km²) of it is land and 0.1 square miles (0.2 km²) of it (1.46%) is water.

As of the census[1] of 2000, there were 2,750 people, 1,068 households, and 777 families residing in the CDP. The population density was 679.4 people per square mile (262.2/km²). There were 1,139 housing units at an average density of 281.4/sq mi (108.6/km²). The racial makeup of the CDP was 76.55% White, 18.51% African American, 0.84% Native American, 0.15% Asian, 2.87% from other races, and 1.09% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 6.40% of the population.
There were 1,068 households out of which 31.9% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 56.0% were married couples living together, 12.3% had a female householder with no husband present, and 27.2% were non-families. 23.1% of all households were made up of individuals and 10.7% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 2.56 and the average family size was 3.00.
In the CDP the population was spread out with 25.1% under the age of 18, 6.7% from 18 to 24, 31.1% from 25 to 44, 23.6% from 45 to 64, and 13.6% who were 65 years of age or older. The median age was 37 years. For every 100 females there were 95.6 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 94.8 males.
The median income for a household in the CDP was $43,086, and the median income for a family was $46,802. Males had a median income of $31,380 versus $22,468 for females. The per capita income for the CDP was $17,669. About 8.6% of families and 11.5% of the population were below the poverty line, including 14.1% of those under age 18 and 19.8% of those age 65 or over.
