Is the image correct? Do they use a logo of an American football helmet? Doesn't seem likely...--Rockero 12:30, 16 April 2006 (UTC)
- You're probably right, but it's the best logo that could be found for the Glasgow Uni team. Once I find a better one, I'll substitute it. Masonpatriot 17:32, 16 April 2006 (UTC)
- The image creates the strong impression that the team plays American football--I would suggest not waiting to remove it.--Rockero 21:09, 16 April 2006 (UTC)
- Um, the team DOES play American football... Masonpatriot 03:08, 17 April 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Two sets of tigers
Was Rockero (above) thinking of the speedway team? Speaking as a Glaswegian with no particular knowledge of speedway or American football, I would suggest the speedway team have impacted more substantially on the public consciousness; personally, I had never heard of the gridiron outfit until I came across this page while creating the article on Shawfield Stadium. In light of all this, I'm proposing to start an article for Glasgow Tigers (speedway); move this article to Glasgow Tigers (American football); and turn this into a disambiguation page. -- Jellyman 08:08, 8 July 2006 (UTC)
- No, I have no interest in American football.--Rockero 18:05, 11 July 2006 (UTC)
I came looking for the Speedway team and found the College American Football team? Who are they? Seems they aren't even the only American Football team in Glasgow called the Tigers! Thanks to google pointing me in the right direction. Me thinks that there should be more than one article off the disambiguation page - Glasgow Tigers (Speedway); Glasgow Tigers (College American Football); Glasgow Tigers (British League American Football). Hopefully with that the Two shall never meet... indeed what's the story of the same name? I doubt there is a link but there might be trademarks. I think we all know that the Speedway team has been around a lot longer.—Preceding unsigned comment added by 82.41.75.77 (talk • contribs)
- There are actually three Glasgow Tigers american football teams; they are all related though. There's a tigers juniors which acts as a feeder to the college team which in turn acts as a feeder to the senior team. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 192.25.22.11 (talk) 09:59, 5 April 2007 (UTC).
[edit] Fair use rationale for Image:Glasgowtigers.jpg
Image:Glasgowtigers.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.
Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.
If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images lacking such an explanation can be deleted one week after being tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.
