Glasshoughton

Glasshoughton is a small area close to Castleford and Pontefract in the county of West Yorkshire, England. It is home to Xscape, an indoor ski slope, and Junction 32, a shopping outlet.

A new railway station opened at Glasshoughton, on 21 February 2005. This was UK’s first new station to open since May 2003.

The football team is Glasshoughton Welfare F.C., who Bruce Grobbelaar made one fund-raising appearance for in 2007.

Planning permission has been approved of by Wakefield Council for a new stadium for the Castleford Tigers rugby league team to be constructed nearby.
