{{helpme}} I started this account today and it says the username is blocked. This must be from an earlier user, and I would appreciate it if an admin could remove the block so that I can make edits.

No, the previous user named gizwidget started this account then, I created the account name and realized that there was already a user with the same name. I went to his talk page and realized he had left Wikipedia, so I emailed him inquiring why. He said that he was tired of Wikipedia and gladly gave me his password. I had no idea he was blocked. As of now this account is under new ownership and I would like the block lifted.

I'm sorry, we can't do that. The password is the only thing we have to verify the identity of the account holder. I'm afraid you will have to register an account with a different name. Thatcher131 00:48, 19 April 2007 (UTC)
