Girls Saurus (ガールズザウルス, Gāruzu Zaurusu^?) is a three-volume comedy manga series by Kei Kusunoki and published by Shogakukan, Inc.. There is a sequel of the manga, Girls Saurus DX (ガールズザウルスDX, Gāruzu Zaurusu^?).

The story revolves around 16-year-old Shingo Chiryu who had been beaten and hospitalized for a month by a morbidly obese girl whose naked confession he had rejected. As a result of the encounter, Shingo has developed a fear of all women, called gynophobia. While Shingo tries to hide his fear, the school nurse notices it and advices him to join the boxing club. However, Shingo soon finds out that all of its members are girls, the club's adviser is the school nurse, and one of the clubs members, the now slim Haruka Nishiharu, is the very girl who had put him in the hospital.

Shingo Chiryū

The 16-year-old male protagonist. Several months ago he received a note from a girl asking him to meet her in private. After arriving, a morbidly obese girl takes her clothes off and confesses her love to him. Shingo becomes frightened because she is so huge, and tries to run away. The girl becomes very angry and beats him within an inch of life, putting him in the hospital for a month. As a result of the encounter Shingo develops gynophobia, and views all women as "dinosaurs," like the girl who attacked him.

Shortly after returning to school, he decides to join the boxing club so he can protect himself from women. However, after joining he finds out, to his horror, that all the other members of the club are women. Even more terrifying, Shingo discovers that one of the members is the same girl that beat him so savagely, but has since lost a lot of weight.

Haruka Nishiharu

A girl who was once immensely fat that confessed her love to Shingo, but got rejected. As a result, Haruka severely beat Shingo. When Shingo gets back to school Nishiharu has lost a lot of weight and Shingo doesn't recognize her until he notices the double mole on her breast. At first, Nishiharu is still mad at Shingo for rejecting her, but still cares for him. Later she begins to actively pursue him, and feels a lot of regret for causing his gynophobia. Being the direct cause of Shingo's fear makes it difficult for her to get truly close to him as he often has flashbacks of her beating him.

Nozomi Kanayama

She has a body like a kid, but she loves Shingo from a time where he helped her getting a book, which was high up in the library and will do anything to get Shingo.

Subaru Chiryū

Shingo's little sister, who until recently was the only girl Shingo didn't fear, mainly because she dressed like a boy. However, one day she started dressing like a girl and recently has gone through a big growth spurt, which makes her look much more 'mature'. Subaru has a brother complex and is determined to be the only woman in Shingo's life. Becomes extremely possessive and jealous when other girls hang around her brother.

Akira Sakō

An extremely rich girl coming from a very traditional family. She wishes that she wasn't born a girl but instead a boy. To prove this she wears boxers, doesn't wear bras , and has a very tomboyish demeanor (Subaru accidentally mistook her for a "crossdresser"). Although she views her relationship with Shingo as "friends", Nishiharu later corrects this as love when Sakou says that she will risk her life for Shingo. Also when she is at her estate, she changes into a very proper and traditional girl. She is also extremely afraid of her mother. Her and Shingo were almost married by her mother.

Arahata Tsuyoshi

A guy who loved Nishiaru back when she was fat, has a fetish for fat girls. He is also considered a gourmet chef, but only because he learned how to cook to make Nishiharu fat again, it later fired back when it was Nishiharu's sisters that turned fat instead. He's also considered a good fighter and is also benevolent (ie: giving an alley cat food, helping an elderly woman cross the street, and playing with some kids at the playground). He also views Shingo as his opponent, but also cries on his shoulder when he is rejected by Haruka again and again.

Hijiri Fusō

The leader of the boxing club , sees herself as very hot and enjoys making other women cry when they see how beautiful she is. Will do anything for money.

Shiori Tsurumai

The School's Madonna. By accident, Shingo bumped into and kissed her. Since that time, Shiori wants to make him her "slave". She is a sadist.

Hotaru Hoshigaoka

New transfer student who has developed a huge crush on Shingo. Has a petite body, but very large breasts. She is very clumsy and is always falling down. According to Fusō-sensei, Hotaru is a 'Level 15 Clumsy Woman', meaning she is a walking natural disaster capable of destroying everything within 5-meter-radius when she trips.

Ichigo Shiogamaguchi

In accordance with her ugly appearance, she is the most fiendish saurus. Putting form a great effort in bed with Shingo. She even use witchcraft just to have sex with him.

Tsubasa Kōnan

A cute boy that has an angel face. He's often mistaken to be a girl. Has a crush on Nozomi. He and Arahata are from the same school.

Akari Nishiharu and Yukari Nishiharu

They're big and little sister of Haruka. Akari is a University student and Yukari a Junior High School. They like to seduce men going around their house. They're once jealous with Haruka's big boobs (when she was big).

Akaike

Akaike is one of Shingo's friend, he is a cheerful person.

Hirabari

Hirabari is one of Shingo's friend. Like Akaike he is also a cheerful person.
