[edit] untitled

I'll be happy to help; thanks for getting back to me. --Merovingian (t) (c) 01:48, August 25, 2005 (UTC)

[edit] Australia

Thanks, I'd missed this bit! ^_^

I see Wikipedia:Administrator intervention against vandalism as the most effective thing. It's closely watched, they pounce!

[edit] Vandalism

You might want to use the tests template for vandalism. Howabout1 Talk to me! 01:08, August 26, 2005 (UTC)

No problem. I made a typo above, you should use {{test2}}. Not a lot of new users deal with vandalism, I'm very impressed. Howabout1 Talk to me! 01:14, August 26, 2005 (UTC)

[edit] Vandalism help

Greetings! I see that you too have noticed the vandalism on the Gene Simmons page--I've reverted it twice, but I'm a newbie and I'm not sure how to go about stopping anon user 210.11.188.16 (s/he already has warnings on his user page). Thanks! GinaDana 00:25, 26 August 2005 (UTC)

Thank you for your message. As Aaron mentioned above, the best place to report active vandalism is WP:AIV, as it is monitored by a multitude of Wikipedia administrators, myself included. Hopefully the next round of contributions from User:210.11.188.16 will be positive ones.  :) Hall Monitor 16:05, 26 August 2005 (UTC)

[edit] Re: Weasley family

Odd. As far as I recall, the caption I altered was on the picture of the house, to iterate that it was as depicted in the film. Could you provide a link to the diff. where I altered the Weasley photo caption? Rob Church Talk | Desk 16:50, 29 August 2005 (UTC)

No problem. Rob Church Talk | Desk 16:57, 29 August 2005 (UTC)

[edit] Hi, re: IP:61.69.12.13

Hi. Please see User talk:61.69.12.13 and block this user (I assume you're an admin...) (read my comments on that page). ZPMMaker 07:22, 25 October 2005 (UTC)

Sorry, but I'm not actually an admin--just a vandal fighter! You should try posting this on one of their boards.

[edit] Vandals

Hi GinaDana, When placing warning messages on possible vandals could you use {{subst:test}} instead of {{test}} ? It helps on server performance, and doesn't give the vandal a link to a popular tempalte to vandalize! You may also want to consider looking at or joining the CVU. xaosflux Talk/CVU 17:16, 21 December 2005 (UTC)</nowiki>

Thanks for the heads-up! I was taking a Wiki-vacation for a while, so I fell out of touch with things for some time. GinaDana 07:18, 15 October 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Hm?

What? My edit summary was annoyed-sounding, I'm sure, but my edit was far from contreversial. --172.198.40.82 06:50, 15 October 2006 (UTC)

Greetings! Wikipedia:Administrator intervention against vandalism is a pretty well-established page that generally shouldn't be edited in that manner. An edit like that often suggests vandalism by a disgruntled user. Sorry if the revert was made in error, but I'd recommend listing your suggestion on that page's talk page. Cheers. GinaDana 06:56, 15 October 2006 (UTC)
I did. It was discussed a while ago. What do you mean, in that manner? --172.198.40.82 06:56, 15 October 2006 (UTC)
See here --172.198.40.82 06:58, 15 October 2006 (UTC)
My apologies then. As you can see from most of my edits, I mainly try to look out for vandalism. But I'm sure you can understand my concern about an anon. editor making a change to that page. Cheers! GinaDana 07:03, 15 October 2006 (UTC)
No problem. It's kinda been a bit confusing either way, we're still working on it... By the way, I did see your contribs, and you're a very good vandal fighter. Trust me, I've been around the Wiki-block a time or two. --172.198.40.82 07:05, 15 October 2006 (UTC)
Oh, I think finally understand the debate about the point: whether the vandalism is being reported by or reported about a real user, not a bot, ja? Confusing wording indeed. Are you also a registered user? Cheers! GinaDana 07:09, 15 October 2006 (UTC)
Yep. And it saying user makes the anons think registered user, while others think it implies anyone who uses wikipedia... And so on and so forth. And nope, I'm not registered. --172.198.40.82 07:13, 15 October 2006 (UTC)
This is an English major's dream! :) You could perhaps say something like Vandalism reported by humans versus Vandalsim created by humans. Less concise, but less ambiguous. Do you not register as a form of protest? ;) GinaDana 07:27, 15 October 2006 (UTC)
Pretty much, yeah. ;) --172.198.40.82 07:37, 15 October 2006 (UTC)

[edit] WP:CVU status

The Wikipedia:Counter-Vandalism Unit project is under consideration to be moved to {{inactive}} and/or {{historical}} status. You have been identified as a project member and your input as to this matter would be welcomed at WT:CVU#Inactive.3F. Thank you. Delivered on behalf of user:xaosflux 03:06, 10 August 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Image source problem with Image:Bucknellseal.jpg

Image Copyright problem

This is an automated message from a robot. You have recently uploaded Image:Bucknellseal.jpg. The file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, then a link to the website from which it was taken, together with a restatement of that website's terms of use of its content, is usually sufficient information. However, if the copyright holder is different from the website's publisher, their copyright should also be acknowledged.

As well as adding the source, please add a proper copyright licensing tag if the file doesn't have one already. If you created/took the picture, audio, or video then the {{GFDL-self}} tag can be used to release it under the GFDL. If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair use. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their source and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. Unsourced and untagged images may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If the image is copyrighted under a non-free license (per Wikipedia:Fair use) then the image will be deleted 48 hours after 19:37, 15 September 2007 (UTC). If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. If you believe you received this message in error, please notify the bot's owner.
