Gilles Genest is a French animal painter born in 1948. He is currently living in Montreal, Canada.
He specialises in paintings with a dream-like quality, representing animals (cats, hippopotamus, giraffes, whales, penguins, etc.) in sometimes unexpected situations.
He has been exhibiting his work in France and Canada since 1981.
