This is an image displaying Gif-file patterns when opened in a text- or hex-editor. Once made for my own study of direct manipulation of gif-files using Javascript.

Anybody is welcome to edit the image to add clarifications. I assume displaying the internals of a gif-file does not infringe some patent.

After all, anybody can open a gif-file in a text editor, like opening the hood of a vehicle to study the engine. I suppose this falls under the term reverse engineering. Tristan Laurillard (talk) 20:52, 9 December 2007 (UTC)
