The organization generated and placed nearly $900 million in urgently needed new product donations in 2006. Gifts In Kind distributes these donations to more than 150,000 community charities across the United States and throughout the world that are improving the lives of millions of people.
Gifts In Kind International is acknowledged as one of the most cost-efficient charities by Forbes magazine. In 2006 it operated on 0.3 percent of the fair market value of its donations -- meaning 99.7 percent of all donations went directly to communities and people in need.
[1]Charity Navigator], a leading independent charity evaluator, gave Gifts In Kind International a four-star rating (the highest grade possible) for the sixth-consecutive year — - less than 1 percent of charities who are considered for this rating achieve this status. "This ‘exceptional’ rating from Charity Navigator differentiates Gifts In Kind International from its peers and proves that it’s worthy of the public’s trust," stated the charity watchdog group.
