The Giani Zail Singh College Of Engineering & Technology (GZSCET) is a college in Bathinda. It is the first institute in Punjab, India, established with the full funding of state government. It was founded in the year 1989 when the Governor of Punjab Sh.S.S.Ray laid the foundation stone on October 23, 1989.

Initially set up as Government Engineering College, it was converted in to an autonomous institute in the year 1992 and a Board of Governors was constituted to manage the affairs of the College. The Chairman of the Board of Governors is the Chief Executive for technical education in the state, and the other members include eminent industrialists, academicians, and senior representatives of the state government. The College is affiliated with the Punjab Technical University in Jalandhar.It was inaugrated approximately 4 hours before NIT jalandhar.It is semi autonomous in nature.
