Gholam Nabi Nasher was a statesman and a senator, representing the province of Kunduz in Afghanistan's Senate until the overthrow of King Zahir Shah in 1973. He was the great-grandson of Sher Khan, who was ruler of the Sur Dynasty of northern India in the 16th century.
