Ghior is located at 23.8875° N 89.8375° E . It has 24413 units of house hold and total area 145.95 km².

As of 1991 Bangladesh census^[1], Ghior has a population of 127521. Males constitute are 50.16% of the population, and females 49.84%. This Upazila's eighteen up population is 68107. Ghior has an average literacy rate of 31.2% (7+ years), and the national average of 32.4% literate. ^[2]
