[edit] Discussion
I would be very interested to hear what other Wikipedians think of this template. – Quadell (talk) (sleuth) 22:56, Mar 28, 2005 (UTC)
- I don't think you can have one for GFDL-presumed for those uploaded by newbie authors who don't add a copyright tag and presume PD. I've found some images with this tag that shouldn't have it anyway. Dunc|☺ 15:16, 31 July 2005 (UTC)
[edit] GNU icon replacement
This template's page is fully protected. Please replace Image:Heckert GNU white.png with Image:Heckert GNU white.svg. Thank you. adnghiem501 21:36, 25 February 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Edit protection requested
Can you please replace image copyright tag with a piped link image copyright tag, so that it can get rid of a cross-namespace redirect? Also bypassing redirect from WP:IFD to Wikipedia:Images and media for deletion. -- ADNghiem501 03:48, 31 July 2006 (UTC)
- Done. —Ruud 15:24, 31 July 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Interwiki link to vi:
Please add an interwiki link to the Vietnamese version of this template:
vi:Tiêu bản:GFDL-presumed
Thanks.

[edit] "legacy images"?
Why has this template been changed? Where was the discussion? Thank you, Fang Aili talk 17:28, 3 February 2007 (UTC)
- I was wondering that myself. I use this all the time when a newbie has uploaded a clearly self-made image but tagged it improperly. —Angr 07:22, 6 February 2007 (UTC)
- Exactly--that is when I use it too. --Fang Aili talk 19:16, 6 February 2007 (UTC)
- The ex post facto discussion is at Wikipedia talk:Image copyright tags#GFDL-presumed. —Angr 19:54, 6 February 2007 (UTC)
- Exactly--that is when I use it too. --Fang Aili talk 19:16, 6 February 2007 (UTC)
This should be changed back. If someone uploads an image that they have created, and specifies as such, it is safe to assume that they want it on Wikipedia. — Omegatron 14:18, 1 June 2007 (UTC)
- That's the whole problem - of course they may want it on Wikipedia, but we don't accept "by permission" images. We only accept images licensed under a GFDL-compatible license. Plenty of people, despite the warnings, upload images that they only intend for Wikipedia to use and we can't make any assumption about these images. --BigDT 14:20, 1 June 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Content-specific warning template
I have created a warning template specifically for the purpose of warning uploaders of these images - GFDL presumed warning. Please feel free to tweak as desired. --BigDT 13:25, 13 May 2007 (UTC)
