Maestro Gevorg Sargsyan was born on October 5, 1981 in Yerevan, Armenia.

Winner of Sir Georg Solti Foundation grant-award for 2006, Gevorg Sargsyan is a youngest and most renowned Armenian conductor.

First steps as a musician he did as a cellist. In 1999, Gevorg Sargsyan,[1] as an exceptional case has entered in Orchestral Conducting Department of Yerevan Komitas State Musical Conservatory (prof. Yuri Davtyan).

Being 18 years old on 1st year of studying Gevorg shows himself as a progressive student and has been selected by the rectorat of Yerevan State Conservatory to fell the position of music director and conductor of Conservatory's Symphonic Orchestra. Further, in 2002-2003 Gevorg continued study at the Vienna Conservatory (Austria) with prof. Maximillian Cencic, later participated on conducting Master course with prof. Dominique Rouits (Paris Conservatory) in Italy.

Since 2002 Maestro Sargsyan is a honorable conductor of Yerevan Youth Chamber Orchestra. Has a close collaboration with ensemble "AUS-5", premiering mainly contemporary music. In 2005, maestro Sargsyan has got a position of assistant director and conductor of the Armenian National Academic Opera & Ballet Theatre.[2]

Maestro’s teaching activity includes lessons at the State Conservatory of Armenia, masterclass of orchestral conducting in Valencia, Spain [3] and teaching cello as well.

Gevorg Sargsyan is a “Master Class” labeled artist of the Armenian Music Center [4], a leading company in Armenia of producing CDs & DVDs. Recordings of classical masterpieces made by Gevorg Sargsyan are inherent part of Armenian Music Center’s productions. In 2007, his name was included in the web-directory of 1000 Armenian Famous Persons </ref>www.persons.am</ref>.

Have performed with numerous concerts in Armenia and overseas. Many musical critics and professionals describes Gevorg Sargsyan as a very young but uniquily gifted and promising conductor in the music world of our time.
