[edit] Lieutenant Colonel

Is the abbreviation, "Ltc = Lieutenant Colonel" correct, or should it be LtC? —wwoods 01:03, 30 Mar 2005 (UTC)

I have never seen LtC. The modern army uses "LTC" but that is less attractive, so I picked Ltc. BTW, if I do any more of these OBs (which are a lot of work), I plan to omit the regimental commanders, so far fewer Ltc's will appear. Hal Jespersen 01:16, 30 Mar 2005 (UTC)

[edit] II Corps succession

BG William Hays is listed as succeeding Caldwell in command of II Corps. Should this be BG Alexander Hays? Scott Mingus 23:46, 16 September 2006 (UTC)

Not according to http://www.gdg.org/Research/OOB/EicherOOB.htm Although Eicher's OOB is not 100% accurate, I generally trust it. Sears's book agrees. Hal Jespersen 15:30, 17 September 2006 (UTC)
Found what I was looking for in a bio of William Hays - it was him. He rejoined the army on July 4 shortly before it left to pursue Lee. I had not been sure if he returned in time for the Battle of Gettysburg. I knew that Griffin had come back to the V Corps before it left from GB, but wasn't sure if Hays had also returned. Thanks.
