This picture was taken on 06/17/05 in front of the Council of the German Speaking Community in Belgium, which is located in the city of Eupen. The words "Exekutive der deutschsprachigen Gemeinschaft" ("Council of the German Speaking Community") are etched into the pillar, which lines the metal gate leading to the courtyard of the two-story council. Beneath the inscription is a plackard which reads "Geschütztes Denkmal" ("monumental protection"). Structures bearing this seal may not be destroyed or modified without permission, as they may be of historical value.
