Gerrit Smith Estate, in Peterboro, New York, was a home of Gerrit Smith, 19th-century social reformer, abolitionist, and presidential candidate.
Outbuildings on his estate were used as refuges for escaped slaves, on the Underground railway.
It was declared a National Historic Landmark in 2001.[1][3]
