The Great Eastern Railway Class S56 was a class of 0-6-0T steam locomotives designed by James Holden. Together with some rebuilt examples of GER Class R24, they were classified as J69 by the London and North Eastern Railway.

British Railways numbers were 68490-68636 but this series contained both J67 (GER Class R24) and J69 classes.

GER no. 87 is preserved at the National Railway Museum.

- Peter is based on the GER Class R24 Rebuilt 0-6-0T in the Thomas and Friends, but Not seen on the TV Series until 2009.
