Welcome to Wikipedia and thank you for your contributions. An article you recently created, George Winch, may not conform to some of Wikipedia's guidelines for new articles, so it will shortly be removed (if it hasn't been already). A tag has been placed on George Winch, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done because the article seems to be about a person, group of people, band, club, company, or web content, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is notable: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not assert the subject's importance or significance may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable.
If you feel that you can assert the notability of the subject, you may contest the deletion. To do this, add {{hangon}} on the top of the page (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag) and leave a note on the article's talk page explaining your position. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would confirm the subject's notability under Wikipedia guidelines.
For guidelines on specific types of articles, you may want to check out our criteria for biographies, for web sites, for bands, or for companies. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. Nihiltres(t.c.s) 02:47, 8 May 2007 (UTC)

Welcome to Wikipedia. Please do not remove speedy deletion tags from articles that you have created yourself, as you did with George Winch. If you do not believe the article deserves to be deleted, then please place {{hangon}} on the page (please do not remove any existing speedy deletion tag) and make your case on the article's talk page. Administrators will look at your reasoning before deciding what to do with the article. Thank you. —C.Fred (talk) 03:03, 8 May 2007 (UTC)

Please do not add unhelpful and unconstructive content to Wikipedia, as you did to George Winch. Your edits appear to be vandalism and have been reverted. If you would like to experiment, please use the sandbox. Thank you. (Removing the speedy deletion tag from an article one created is considered an act of vandalism.) —C.Fred (talk) 03:25, 8 May 2007 (UTC)

[edit] August 2007

Dear Georgewinch, I noticed you recently created the article Winch art, which appears to be a re-creation of a previously deleted article, George Winch. First, I'd like to have you review the conflict of interest policy. You should not edit or create articles about yourself, your family, or friends, as you would be unable to edit them neutrally. Neutrality is one of the core policies of Wikipedia, and I'd request that you review them all. Another policy that you need to be aware of is the notability policy. It appears that you have provided no reliable sources as references to the article, thus it is considered original research, and cannot be accepted. A tag will likely be placed on the article for its deletion in accordance to these policies. Please review the policies thoroughly, and if you have any questions relating to them, feel free to ask, or see the help page. Thank you, ArielGold 08:33, 19 August 2007 (UTC)

Dear Georgewinch, I understand, but please realize that Wikipedia is not a webspace provider, nor is it a resource for conducting business, or a sales catalog. Again, the conflict of interest is a big issue when you create an article about yourself, but when you do it as you've said above, to get your company noticed, then it also falls into these other two areas. If you are notable, with newspaper articles written about you, or your work has been shown in prominent galleries, or both, then someone else who does not know you, who can verify those sources, I'm sure would be happy to create an article about you. If you find some sources that comply with Wikipedia's guidelines, feel free to submit them, and your story for someone else to write, at articles for creation to be considered. I'm sorry this isn't the news you wanted to hear, and again, I do understand your position. ArielGold 09:12, 19 August 2007 (UTC)

[edit] License tagging for Image:TOOL VIC ADMAT3.jpg

Thanks for uploading Image:TOOL VIC ADMAT3.jpg. Wikipedia gets thousands of images uploaded every day, and in order to verify that the images can be legally used on Wikipedia, the source and copyright status must be indicated. Images need to have an image tag applied to the image description page indicating the copyright status of the image. This uniform and easy-to-understand method of indicating the license status allows potential re-users of the images to know what they are allowed to do with the images.

For more information on using images, see the following pages:

This is an automated notice by OrphanBot. If you need help on selecting a tag to use, or in adding the tag to the image description, feel free to post a message at Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. 01:10, 6 November 2007 (UTC)
