Template talk:Geolinks-UK-buildingscale

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

I have set this up to enable UK geolinks for maps and aerial photos to be added into articles. The format and naming matches the US equivalent article: Template:Geolinks-US-buildingscale. There is one small issue because the satellite images for parts of the UK do not match the resolution available in the US, this means the links produced by the template sometimes result in a page telling the user that the level of detail requested is not available. I have opted to keep the same level of zoom as more detailed are being added to the UK photos over time.

[edit] Request for comments

Speaking of StreetMap.co.uk - any objections to including it in the template's streetlevel links? SDS 21:56, 6 July 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Proposed removal of commercial Terraserver site

Terraserver charges US$29/month to get high resolution images. As a commercial website it should be removed from this template. If nobody objects I will remove it one week. --Cheesy Mike 10:45, 10 June 2007 (UTC)

No objections so I am removing Terraserver. --Cheesy Mike 13:02, 22 June 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Geolinks alteration

Alteration of Geolinks is under discussion at Wikipedia_talk:WikiProject_Geographical_coordinates#Proposals. Changes or deletion are likely soon. (SEWilco 19:35, 23 October 2007 (UTC))
