In the lists of episcopal succession in Crockford's Clerical Directory, the entry for Thetford includes the line,

1570-1894 in abeyance

Yet George Hickes was apparently bishop of Thetford for some of that time.--Oxonian2006 10:59, 19 February 2007 (UTC)
