Criticism
The makers of Foreman's grill have shown no evidence that using the grill significantly reduces the fat content of foods over normal grilling methods.
no source so I made it go the way of the macarena
[edit] "avid" autographs
How is one an "avid autograph signer"?? This seems an odd way to describe his current activities. --michael zimmer 21:26, May 19, 2005 (UTC)
[edit] Names and fathers?
I quote from a post to Usenet:
"His (George Foreman's) childhood hadn't been affluent, but at least, unlike a lot of young black men, he'd grown up with both a mother and a father. Or so he thought. Actually, he was conceived at a time when his mother and her husband had separated, and his father was a man he knew only as an acquaintance. Until he was a teenager, he had no idea of this, he just wondered from time to time why his father seemed distant. When he did discover the truth it turned out that everyone else had known all along: his father, the man he had thought of as his father, and even his elder siblings: the nickname they called him, which he'd never known the origin of, was a short form of his real father's last name. He did not take this well.
So when he grew up, calmed down, married, and began to have children of his own, he wanted to spare them from any possible doubt. Which is why he demonstrated that every child was both wanted and loved, by giving each one his or her father's name."
So, under the circumstances, should the article actually say that his father was JB Foreman? DS 20:20, 13 November 2005 (UTC)
[edit] Big George
????????--??????? How did he get the nickname Big George? Can someone add that to wiki please? -- (Shabbir Bokhari) -- 11th DECEMBER
[edit] Rampant fingerprint rumour
Editors: Beware and keep a watchful eye on this fingerprint hoax. A rumour was deliberatly started on air during the 10 January 2006 edition of "Ross And Terri" broadcast on Australian Radio station Triple J. The broadcast can be downloaded here: [[1]] and the reference is found roughly twelve and a half minutes in.
Thanks for clarifying where it all started. BabuBhatt 04:00, 7 February 2006 (UTC)
[edit] "Pound for pound, the greatest heavyweight"
Hello,
Don't you think that this phrase in a passage of the article is contradictory? We usually put "pound for pound" expression to compare a boxer with fellows of different categories. For instance, Robinson was the greatest pound for pound boxer of history - just an example for the sake of explanation :). Thus, saying that Foreman was "pound for pound, the greatest heavyweight" is incorrect. We should rather say "pound for pound, the greatest boxer" etc...
What do you think guys? Cheers
- I agree. Its either pound for pound the best over all weights or the best at any given wieght, so pound for pound the best heavyweight is incorrect. --LiamE 09:23, 26 April 2006 (UTC)
What about George Foreman latest comeback? Anyone?
[edit] Infobox Vandalism
Someone has put some inappropriate content in the infobox for George Forman, including his nationality as being "Black, yo", and his death place as being "Everywhere", etc. How does one revert to a previous edit where this information is correct? Mathteacher1729 19:10, 5 February 2007 (UTC)
Nevermind, I fixed it. P.S. sorry for the grey box around my text here. I don't know why Wikipedia is doing that. Mathteacher1729 19:24, 5 February 2007 (UTC)
- Fixed the grey box thing. Its a Wiki bug. --Eqdoktor 08:06, 31 March 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Big George Grill
It does remove a little more fat than the normal grill because it heats up slower. What happens is the fat has more time to seep out because this grill does not sear the fat in like conventional grills. This is shown in Good Eats, Episode EA1E12, "Scrap Iron Chef". After Alton Brown makes bacon from scratch, he bakes the bacon in the oven. He places the strips of bacon onto a sheet pan fitted with a rack, then places that into a cold oven. He turns the oven to 400 degrees F, then explains if you want the bacon to be less lean, to preheat the oven instead. He explains that allowing the oven to preheat with the bacon in gives the fat more time to cook out. So the grill does cook leaner because it takes the meat longer to heat up than over a hot flame. --JRTyner 07:58, 14 October 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Sitcom?
Didn't George Foreman also have his own short-lived television show?
[edit] Major Cleanup
I took a pass through the entire article on 6/28/07 trying to improve grammar, punctuation, and syntax -- while also eliminating bias and unsupported opinion. Will take another pass soon. --NameThatWorks 22:13, 28 June 2007 (UTC)
Be sure to look at Boxing for Charity: 'he would like to DO some exhibition boxing for charity'
Should it not be mentioned somewhere that he has 5 daughters and 5 sons called george foreman?
- I think it's worth mentioning. The article doesn't seem to mention much about his personal life, and I don't remember seeing any mention of his children. Lee-mei 19:14, 24 July 2007 (UTC)
- is there anything on how his children turned out? It might be interesting to have a section about the psychological damages that come from having four other brothers named the same thing as you.
[edit] The Apprentice
The article mentions he will appear as a contestant on The Celebrity Apprentice (The Apprentice 7), yet all sources for the show say boxer Lennox Lewis will be competing, and Foreman is never mentioned. --Sakaki22 (talk) 20:07, 13 December 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Fair use rationale for Image:Foremancooney.jpg
Image:Foremancooney.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.
Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.
If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images lacking such an explanation can be deleted one week after being tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.

[edit] I was shocked to find a slur on George
A picture tells a thousand words. Image:Http://www.rockerto.info/img/blog/George Foreman.jpg I don't know how long it was up for, and the slur was in bold writing. By the time i had gotten around to doing some research about the text, the page had been corrected. How does this happen, or why do people do these things? -- Rock3rto —Preceding unsigned comment added by Rockerto (talk • contribs) 05:30, 20 January 2008 (UTC)
[edit] Foreman's claim that he may have been drugged during "Rumble in the Jungle"
