[edit] Is this article about a person or a product line?

George Davies is referred to as both a He and an It. Which does this article refer to?

[edit] Tone of article

The start of this article reads more like an advertising feature in a fashion magazine than something in an encyclopaedia.

[edit] Contradiction?

This article seems to contradict the Next (retailer) article regarding the foundation of Next?!?! Can someone explain?

According to next's corporate website [1] the account in Next (retailer) is correct. From George Davies (retailer) it sounds like George was the designer for next while J Hepworth & Son was the entrepreneur, so I'll see if I can find something to back that up and clarify the article. --- Richard CHSTalk 15:05, 13 August 2006 (UTC)
Yep, it was a joint venture. Terence Conran owned Hepworth, and hired Davies to run the new chain. [2][3] --- Richard CHSTalk 15:10, 13 August 2006 (UTC)
Also remember that Davies was ousted from Next in a boardroom coup, so they're not going to want to overplay Davies' role. User:lawsonrob
