I don't know the Wikipedia codes to mark this article, but it is jargon-laden and utterly incomprehensible. It's impossible to tell whether it's about a whole satellite that physically orbits the Earth or a programme in a computer on Earth.

I think the author is confusing certain GIS software & applications with the term GeoBase. It is kind of like saying a GIS is an icon on your desktop rather than a database consisting of many parts (software, data, users, methods, etc).

I work with a Canadian government initiative by the name of GeoBase. I would like to move this article to GeoBase (Telogis GIS software), and turn GeoBase into a disambiguation page, where users can choose between the Telogis article and the GeoBase (geospatial data) article. I believe this is the fairest solution to the problem. If I hear no reasonable objections or alternate suggestions by Wednesday of next week, I will carry out this change then.

GeoBase is the name of a bibliographic database and abstracting service that covers Earth, Geographical and Ecological Sciences. Journal coverage began in 1980. It is widely used. Davidl53 (talk) 20:16, 9 June 2008 (UTC)

I actually came across that last week while I was researching relationships between universities and GeoBase (geospatial data) for work. The bibliographic database doesn't seem to have a presence on Wikipedia, though. Should it be added to the disambiguation page regardless? —Stsauve (talk) 16:07, 11 June 2008 (UTC)
