Georgia's 7th congressional district includes Barrow, Gwinnett, and Walton counties and is represented by Republican John Linder.[1] Linder defeated Democratic challenger Allan Burns in the 2006 mid-term election 71%-29%. The area was redistricted in 2007 by the 110th Congress.[citation needed] Had the district covered the area it does currently during the 2004 presidential election, George W. Bush would have won 69% of the vote.[2]
