George Tavern
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
The George Tavern is a famous East End pub and music venue. The building, formerly known as the Halfway House, is more than 350 years old.
The singer Amy Winehouse and the model Kate Moss have joined a campaign to stop a block of flats being built beside the George Tavern. Winehouse has promised to play a gig there once she leaves her current rehabilitation program. Campaign supporters fear the residential development would end the spot's lucrative sideline as a film and photo location, on which it relies to survive.[1]
