George Godwin FRS (1815 - 27 January 1888) was a British architect and property developer.

Godwin was born in 1815.

Godwin was a prominent architect and property developer and responsible for numerous projects in London, including The Boltons. He also developed model housing for working people, pioneered development in concrete and originated the Art Union of London.
Godwin was editor of The Builder.
Godwin was awarded the Royal Gold Medal in 1881.
Godwin collected chairs that had once belonged to famous people.

Godwin died in 1888 and is buried in Brompton Cemetery, London.[1] His memorial is Grade II listed, containing a portatrait medallion, and being topped by the mourning figures of Faith and Charity.
