George Friend is an English professional footballer, playing as a defender for Exeter City in the Blue Square Premier. Handed a two-year contract in March 2006, having previously played for the youth team set-up at the club, as well continuing to study for his 'A' Levels. Had a loan spell with Glasgow Celtic at the start of the 2005-06 season and with Team Bath in December 2006. He made his senior debut for the Grecians in the Victor Gladwish Cup at Aldershot Town in 2004-05 and his Conference (Blue Square Premier) debut at Forest Green Rovers in April 2006.
Now a first-team regular in the Exeter squad and now looks to make that position his for the future. Can play at left-back, centre-back or even as a left-sided midfield player.
