Giorgi Asanidze (Georgian: გიორგი ასანიძე) (born August 30, 1975 in Sachkhere) is a Georgian weightlifter who competed in the Men's 85 kg at the 2000 Summer Olympics (where he won a bronze medal) and 2004 Summer Olympics (where he won a gold medal).
He was elected to the Parliament of Georgia from the United National Movement in 2004. He is also running in the May 2008 Parliamentary election from Tbilisi’s Gldani constituency on the same party ticket.[1]
