My academic specialty was originally Jürgen Habermas and Martin Heidegger (which Habermas might lament, as we were once in regular contact, while he was writing The Theory of Communicative Action), but my interests now span contemporary philosophy. I'm presently in a "complex" of ethical theory, epistemology, cognitive science, and philosophical biology. But my longstanding affection for Habermas' work causes me to host an academic email list related to his philosophical work and interests; and to have more-or-less completed a neo-/post-Habermasian project of applied discursive work, which is applied work, not intended to be complexly discursive. I'm now beginning an online trek into specifics of that "complex" mentioned above. I can be reached via the Habermas group's owner email address. By the way, I'm not the musician that tops Google searches on "gary e davis" (though I do have enough love in my life). Gary E. Davis. Gedavis (talk) 03:54, 6 January 2008 (UTC)
