[edit] Name of the case

this case is mis-named, and it appears the wikipeida naming has spread throughout the interweb. :-) Gebhart was the DEFENDANT - the Chairman of the state board of education, and Belton was the PLAINTIFF, one of the black parents. Normal convention then, would have this as Belton v. Gebhart would it not???????Rick Boatright 9 July 2005 04:00 (UTC)

  • By the time it reached the Supreme Court, it was Gebhart v. Belton, Belton having won at a lower level. -- Jmabel | Talk July 9, 2005 05:41 (UTC)

Tells you what I know. I'm glad I made the redirect tho. Rick Boatright 9 July 2005 13:43 (UTC)
