Talk:Gastronorm sizes
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
I tried to look up Gastronorm sizes on Wikipedia and there was nothing, so I created this page after I found the sizes on a catering supplier web site. I do not know how widely these sizes are used, or where they originated. Man with two legs 09:57, 9 May 2006 (UTC)
Trying to find a citation on Google reveals not much. There are plenty of hits refering to catering equipment available in these sizes and at least one military specification mentioning them, but no clues so far as to which organisation defined them. I am disinclined to use a randomly chosen catering supply site as a citation even if it does mention how to convert gastronorm to millimetres. The only hit I have seen on Google that is neither a catering supplier nor a contract specification refers to this Wikipedia article. Man with two legs 09:15, 13 September 2006 (UTC)
I found this http://web.freepint.com/forum/bar/read.php?i=26897&PHPSESSID=643ee60cf6d1d72d9d660d94515128f4 which seems authoritative. Gastronorm is an EU standard: EN 631. Stevewclark 16:39, 15 July 2007 (UTC)
