Gasquet, California

Gasquet pronounced (GAS-kee or GAWS-kee) is an unincorporated community 22 mi (35 km) southwest of the Oregon border in Del Norte County, California and 18 miles (29 km) northeast of Crescent City, with a population of 515. Its zip code is 95543 and its area code is 707. It's located in the Smith River National Recreation Area.

Gasquet is the wettest town in California.[1]

In the state legislature Gasquet is located in the 4th Senate District, represented by Republican Sam Aanestad, and in the 1st Assembly District, represented by Democrat Patty Berg. Federally, Gasquet is located in California's 1st congressional district, which has a Cook PVI of D +10[2] and is represented by Democrat Mike Thompson.
